Beagle Training: Starting Potty Training Early for Better Results

People love the idea of owning a cute furry four legged companion but often times completely forget about all the responsibilities that come with the dog. One of the many responsibilities which are often times forgotten is potty training.

While this might seem like a no-brainer to you, it’s overlooked a lot of the time. People just expect their beagles to KNOW that they are supposed to go poop outside instead of in the house. Unfortunately that’s not how it works and in most cases, unless your dog breeder has already housetrained their beagle puppies or you adopted an older dog that was already housetrained, you will have to do it yourself.

The key to this is to never let your beagle to go potty indoors. Why? You might ask, well the answer is simple. Your beagles smell is far more superior to your own and even though you might think that you cleaned up the mess, he will still be able to smell it.

Once he smells that he went potty in that spot before, he won’t hesitate to pee or poop there again. This can be avoided easily by never letting your dog going potty indoors.

If your beagle has already went potty or pooped inside the house, don’t worry, all hope is not gone. You will need to get a special stain remover at your local pet store. It will eliminate urine smells and stains, depending on which brand you get.

Here for the first time beagle dog owners housebreaking tips and advice, the longer you let your beagle go potty indoors, the harder it will be for you to get rid of this nasty habit. This is why you shouldn’t wait to potty train your beagle and instead, have it on the top of your “to do” list.
